arrow pointing to textThe first test will involve looking for the presence of a fusion crust.

Fusion crust – When a meteorite is falling through the atmosphere, it begins to heat up because of the extreme compression of the atmosphere. The meteorite gets so hot that the outer surface begins to melt, which produces a thin black/brown coating.

Use the magnifying glass to look for a fusion crust. (Click on the magnifying glass.)
